North American Title Co. Promotes Cave to Assistant Manager of Its California Title Plant
Pleasanton, Calif. (PRWEB) January 16, 2014 -- North American Title Co. (NAT) has promoted Roldan Cave to assistant manager of its California title plant located in Pleasanton, Calif.
“I’ve been fortunate to have worked with Roldan for many years, and he has been key in contributing to the success of our plant due to his outstanding support,” said David Simmons, vice president, California title plant manager. “He has always focused on accommodating our customers and making sure things are done right and quickly. It is because of his ambition, integrity and loyalty that I am proud to promote him to this position assisting me.”
Cave began his career in the title industry in 1998 in the Bay Area, learning to search and examine title in the NAT title plant.
A title plant collects, stores, maintains and analyzes official records for information that affects title to real property, some dating back more than 100 years. When a home is placed under contract to be sold and a title insurance policy is purchased, a search of those public records is launched.
Technical experts, such as title examiners, determine the rights others may have in a property, including recorded liens, legal actions and rights of way, and generate a preliminary title report specifying any problems with the title. According to the American Land Title Association, more than one-third of all title searches reveal a problem that title professionals clear before a home buyer goes to closing.
When Cave began his career 16 years ago, NAT’s Pleasanton title plant only covered Alameda and two adjacent counties. Today, the computer-based plant covers most of the state of California and Northern Nevada and employs a large staff of title examiners, title officers and recorders. The maintenance, research, evaluation and legal interpretation of public records in a title plant is where most of the premium dollar goes when a buyer pays for title insurance at the closing of his or her home.
