NYAP Inc. Names Cathy Milless Executive Director

National Youth Advocate Program names Cathy Milless Executive Director in South Carolina.

Cathy Milless has served as Director of Development in South Carolina since 2013.

As Executive Director, Milless will spearhead new and ongoing efforts to align NYAP’s vision with the needs of South Carolina youth and families. In her new role as Executive Director, Cathy will be responsible for all NYAP Inc. programs and services in the state effective January 1, 2014.

“One of the founding principles of National Youth Advocate Program is our belief in the power of families and communities to solve problems. I look forward to continuing our work with our South Carolina partners in advocating for children and families and empowering them to realize their full potential,” said Milless.

“Cathy is a proven and tireless advocate for youth and families and her new position as Executive Director of NYAP’s South Carolina program furthers her ability to use her talents to expand NYAP’s work in this important state and to join forces with the many public and private agencies and individuals dedicated to having a positive impact in the lives of South Carolina’s children and families,” said NYAP CEO Marvena Twigg. “Cathy embodies NYAP’s values and philosophies and its commitment to using the resources of the community to strengthen families and their capacity for self-sufficiency."

National Youth Advocate Program, a non profit 501 c (3) organization was founded in 1978 by Dr. Mubarak Awad, and since that time has worked with youth and families across Ohio, West Virginia, Indiana, Illinois, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida.
