An example of the American Airline code-share flight compared to booking direct with US Airways

One of the many benefits to using a travel management company is that we help you find and book the best price available; you won’t end up paying over 200% more for a flight.

Montrose, CA (PRWEB) January 15, 2014

American Airlines announced their code-share relationship with US Airways this week, which translated into a higher cost for travelers. Aash Shravah, Director of Corporate Sales at Montrose Travel and a 2 Million Miler with Executive Platinum status with American Airlines, discovered early morning on January 15th that the cost of booking a US Airways flight through American Airlines was over 200% more than booking direct with US Airways.

To business and leisure travelers, this means spending more on the same flight others might have booked for a significantly lower price. “In the corporate travel world, unless your company has a managed program with quality assurance checks and online booking tools that compare pricing for you, you would have never known you were paying more for the same flight,” states Aash. “That to me is a travesty for the traveling public and they should be made aware.”

Clients of Montrose Travel Corporate Services have access to online booking tools that perform comparison checks when booking flights to ensure that the best prices are being offered. With price guarantees and dedicated agents who also perform price comparisons, Montrose Travel ensured that clients were not paying the higher fare with American Airlines for US Airways flights. “One of the many benefits to using a travel management company is that we help you find and book the best price available; you won’t end up paying over 200% more for a flight,” said Aash.

As a close partner with American Airlines, Montrose Travel has brought the discrepancy to their attention, to which an airline spokesman responded with “Once American and US Airways adopt common technology platforms, these differences will cease. We are striving to minimize discrepancies while delivering as much benefit to customers as we can before this technology migration is complete."
