Featured This Week On The Jazz Network Worldwide: Singer/Songwriter Jimmy Sapienza with His Latest CD Release ‘Azure Te’
Pittsburg, PA (PRWEB) January 19, 2014 -- The cohesive collaboration on “Azure Te” with Jimmy Sapienza and Chris Pangikas has taken Pittsburgh by storm. “Chris Pangikas is pianist, bassist, percussionist, arranger, orchestrator, recording engineer, and computer “Techno-Guru” of the highest order with all songs performed by his “Mid-Night-Players” on this project. Lou Schriber and Eric Defade offer soulful horn solos as drummer Steve Trettel kept the groove at a forward momentum. “Vocalist Judi Figel graces the ensemble with her signature sound,” says Sapienza.
The ten tracks on “Azure Te” are: “Sunny Side Of The Street”; “Azure Te”; “Georgia On My Mind”; “Ain’t That A Kick In The Head”; “La Vie En Rose”; “As Time Goes By”; “Just A Gigolo/I Ain’t Got Nobody”; “You’d Be So Nice To Come Home To”; “You’re Getting To Be A Habit With Me”; and “In The Wee Small Hours Of The Morning.”
Sapienza is a mainstay on the Pittsburgh jazz scene. His versatile talent covers the gamut of entertainment at its best. His credits include stage, film, TV and radio commercials often lending his writing techniques in each medium. Known for his impeccable showmanship, his talents compliment any sophisticated setting from high-end events to jazz festivals, local venues and eateries. There is a philanthropic thread to his musical offerings, for he is known for visiting facilities that are homes for the aged. “I have many stories to tell when it comes to bringing music to the senior who’s spirit is sparked by a song, reclaiming memories of times gone by,” says Jimmy. Coined as a natural crooner, Sapienza finds his way into the hearts of his audiences, from the way he swings, shouts and his upbeat sense of humor are the elements for a ‘good time had by all’.
“Jimmy Sapienza is an ‘all around showman’, his vocal stylings remind you of the days when a male vocalist took you on a journey of the heart,” says Jaijai Jackson, Creator of The Jazz Network Worldwide.
Jimmy Sapienza’s Five Guys Named Moe have a huge following and are widely known for their world-class performances. No surprise that Jimmy’s “I Love Pittsburgh” was voted the “Official Song Of The City.” In 2007, his rendition of “Just A Gigolo/I Ain’t Got Nobody”, along with outstanding performances by other Pittsburgh artists, won an Emmy in the category of “Arts Program or Special”.
