Wexford Place Assisted Living and Memory Support by Senior Star Hosts Seminar Focused on Acute Care
Kansas City, MO (PRWEB) January 16, 2014 -- Wexford Place Assisted Living and Memory Support by Senior Star, a brand-new community in Kansas City, will host The Acute Care Seminar, created and presented by Cognitive Solutions on Tuesday, February 4. Kansas City metro health care professionals are invited to attend the free learning opportunity and earn 6.5 valuable ANCC continuing education hours. The seminar, which focuses on developing an enlightened approach to caring for individuals with cognitive impairments in hospital and similar settings, will take place from 8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 6460 N. Cosby Avenue in Kansas City.
The Acute Care Seminar will feature presentations by Cognitive Solutions’ CEO Michael Splaine and President Jana Jordan. Splaine is the principal of a government affairs and advocacy firm based in Washington, D.C., whose clients include the Alzheimer’s Association and Alzheimer’s Disease International. Splaine has worked with Alzheimer’s patients and their families since 1988. Jordan has more than 15 years’ experience with cognitive impairment as a primary caregiver, and has worked as a public policy advocate and speaker through the Alzheimer’s Association.
