Actress Latarsha Rose, known for her role in “Hunger Games” and most recently as Dr. Lisa Hudson on BET's Being Mary Jane, appeared on Extra host Maria Menounos' “aftershow” network, AfterBuzz TV, where she was interviewed by hosts Megan Thomas, Fahnia Thomas, Tiona Hobson and Ashley Gray as part of the network's Being Mary Jane aftershow. During the interview, Rose discusses her fellow actor Omari Hardwick.
Being Mary Jane, which was originally called Single Black Female, is a series that centers on successful talk show host Mary Jane Paul, played by Gabrielle Union. It follows her professional and private life, while searching for “Mr. Right”. One such potential Mr. Right is played by Omari Hardwick. When asked about Hardwick, Rose says, “[Omari] has such a presence and he’s so down to earth; he’s a wise soul. He can look at you and tell you about yourself.”
The premiere of the series opened up with a disclaimer: “Forty-two percent of African-American women have never been married. ... This is one black woman's story, [and it’s] not meant to represent all black women.” When asked about her opinion of the show, Rose says, “It shows you real women. Women who have real careers, strong relationships with their friends; its not always about fighting.”
