The Academy of Fencing Masters Will Conduct a Five Day Fencing Camp from Monday February 17 to Friday February 21, 2014 during Presidents’ Week School Break
Campbell, CA (PRWEB) January 17, 2014 -- Directed by world class AFM Coaches Alexandr Maximovich and Natasha Maximovich, Ph.D., Academy of Fencing Masters intensive fencing camp during the Presidents' week school break is designed to address the specific needs of fencers in the middle of the competitive season. This camp is ideal intensive training opportunity for competitive fencers to help them prepare for local, regional and national competitions. The supportive environment it is also a great way for all intermediate youth fencers to improve their foil or epee skills, conditioning and understanding of tactics and strategy.
AFM Presidents’ Week Fencing Camp includes:
• physical training and conditioning
• footwork, drills and developmental exercises
• coached open bouting
• bout tactics and strategy,
• mental training for success
Coaches will work with each participant to improve their fencing skills and provide individual constructive feedback on technique and on-strip strategies to help athletes to adjust their game during fencing bouts. Each athlete will be challenged to think critically and develop approaches and methods to improve their fencing performance and empower themselves in their own training afterwards.
“The latest AFM Winter Camp, conducted in the last week of December 2013, was very successful”, explained Irina Chirashnya, founder of Academy of Fencing Masters. “We had participants from several fencing clubs in the Bay Area as well as people coming from Minnesota specifically for our camp. The results speak for themselves – in the following to the camp weekend 11 campers participated in Northern California RYC and 6 of them medaled in the event!”
The camp starts on Monday February 17 and runs till Friday February 21, 2014. The camp training hours are 9am till 4pm, with the drop off available at 8am and pickup at 5pm on each camp day.
The cost of the camp is $495.
AFM Presidents’ Week Fencing Camp is open to AFM members and non-members alike from 8 till 18 years old.
