Tim and Susan Have Matching Handguns, Film About Saddleback Leather Co., to Screen at Sundance Film Festival and Also Available on YouTube
San Antonio, TX (PRWEB) January 18, 2014 -- What started as a simple video about employees, has grown into something bigger than Saddleback Leather ever imagined. Tim and Susan Have Matching Handguns, the first in a series of videos featuring employees who work at the Texas-based leather company was one of 66 short films selected from 8,161 submissions for the 2014 Sundance Film Festival. The short film will also be available on YouTube as part of an initiative with the festival.
The 95-second short film was also the first film to be acquired before the film festival kicked off, Oscilloscope Laboratories, a New York Film company, purchased the film before it even made its debut.
Tim and Susan Have Matching Handguns, though remarkably short in length, is a peek into the love of two people and their desire to have matching guns, The film shows that love is swapping clips with your spouse in the middle of a three-gun problem.”
Joe Callandar, the filmmaker at Saddleback, said “I've submitted short films to Sundance at least a dozen times and not been selected, which makes this film even more of a victory for me. I see Sundance as the first summit in a series of very arduous climbs.”
Callandar’s films have been making waves on the internet, as his recent “How to Knock-off a Saddleback Bag” has been viewed 70K times in the past week. This is a tongue-in-cheek response to how many companies are copying Saddleback Leather Company’s designs.
Up to now, Saddleback Leather Co. has been known for it’s quality leather and rugged designs. Now the company is wanting to share their values, purpose, people and products in a visual context. More employee profile films are expected to come out in 2014.
About Saddleback Leather
Saddleback Leather Co. traces its origins back to a single bag, designed and built for Dave Munson when he was volunteering and working in Mexico. In search of the perfect bag at the time, Munson commissioned a local leather craftsman to build his design. As the quantity of orders from fellow travelers could not be denied, Munson started Saddleback Leather Co. in 2003, bringing together classic design with his signature take on personal, indestructible functionality. Thousands of bags later, the Saddleback Leather collection features heirloom-level bags and small accessories produced with the highest quality leather that will age to reflect the owner’s trials and travels.
Saddleback Leather, they’ll fight over it when you’re dead.™
