Maple Shells On The March: Yamaha Debuts 8300 and 9300 Series Marching Drums
Anaheim (PRWEB) January 17, 2014 -- Yamaha is featuring the 8300 and 9300 Series Marching Drums at the 2014 NAMM Show.
For any marching unit, the drum line is the backbone, and for decades, Yamaha has been a champion on and off the field. With the introduction of the 8300 and 9300 Series Marching Drums, drummers of all levels can enjoy and continue that tradition.
After 30 years of successful development and building the leading share of the marching industry with Birch drum shells, Yamaha brings Maple shells to field competitions with new marching snare, tom and bass drum models. The entries feature the same popular Maple shell design that has been tested with award-winning drum corps and indoor percussion organizations, and has proven to be a great performer, both physically and musically.
Directors and arrangers will appreciate the fact that these drums can provide depth and projection without overpowering the rest of the ensemble, yet still maintain the clear, articulate sound that has been the hallmark of Yamaha marching drums. Chrome hardware is now standard on snare drums, offering improved durability and a more integrated look with the rest of the series.
“More than 10 years of product research and development have yielded one of the most significant changes to Yamaha Marching Percussion,” said Troy Wollwage, marketing manager, Percussion Instruments, Yamaha Corporation of America. “This new series is about more than a shell – it is about more of everything people love about the Yamaha sound.”
