SikkShades by Eddie Bauer Jr. Sunglasses Seeks Funding via Indiegogo to Outperform Polarized Sunglasses with New Technology
Houston, Texas (PRWEB) January 19, 2014 -- SikkShades by Eddie Bauer Jr. is a registered trademark and a brand unto itself. SikkShades are not affiliated with Eddie Bauer LLC in any way. Handmade in Italy, the SikkShades brand stands on its own by incorporating breakthroughs in design with new technology.
Eddie Bauer Jr. had no desire to slap his name on someone else's frame and call it his own. He wanted to make great, stylish sunglasses that were durable yet fashionable. Tired of the overpriced monopoly perceived in the marketplace, he set out to design frames that were affordable and outperformed what was available. He wanted sunglasses that were stylish enough, safe enough, and durable enough for outdoor-oriented people to wear during their chosen pursuits.
Eddie went to a designer he had the good fortune of becoming friends with, who has helped some of the world’s biggest brands. A fan of what Eddie was trying to accomplish, and the extensive field research he had performed, he agreed to collaborate. Their combined work then led Eddie to the doorstep of one of the oldest independent eyewear manufactures in Italy. They brought his designs to life. This is how the Iconic Huckleberry and Qualifier were born.
In today’s marketplace the word “polarized” helps sell sunglasses. Big brands know that with it comes a pricing premium of typically a hundred bucks or more. The SikkShades technology is Carl Zeiss's Flash Electric Coating. This process infuses the iridium of our lens, which enables it to outperform polarized in many tests measuring glare, clarity, and UV protection. The big bonus with SikkShades Flash Electric lenses is that users do not get the prism and distance distortions that come with a polarized lens. According to Ocean Palmer, celebrated blogger, “When I put my pair of Sikks to the test, those sunglasses sat in place like they were glued on — I never had to touch them. From a customer perspective, the wearing experience was extraordinary.”
Of particular interest to active people on the move in sports, on streets and in traffic jams is the no-slip nose grip that makes certain that SikkShades stay put on the wearer's face without any sliding down the nose in almost under condition while retaining a comfortable, very natural feel.
Now they have completed months of testing including wind tunnel tests to prove performance. Samples are ready in the inventory and distributors are lined up, too. However, in order to grab a greater market footprint and increase public awareness, they need funding assistance.
This campaign will receive all funds raised even if it does not reach its goal. Funding duration: January 11, 2014 - February 08, 2014 (11:59pm PT).
