Lakeview Health Shares Addiction Advancements with Jacksonville Region Through Monthly Lecture Series Beginning January 24
(PRWEB) January 19, 2014 -- Lakeview Health, a Florida-based drug and alcohol rehab center, has just launched the Lakeview Professional Lecture Series (LPLS), a free program designed to help educate the Jacksonville-area medical, behavioral health and social services communities in the latest developments in addiction treatment. Each event will provide attendees with Continuing Education Units, as well as provide a forum for collaboration for those interested in addiction recovery.
“Addiction treatment is in a special period of rapid advancement,” explained Roy Serpa, President & CEO of Lakeview Health. “It is critical that this education be disseminated to regional professionals so that the Jacksonville community can keep pace with important developments.”
The first in the series will be held January 24, 2014, at Lakeview Health center and is entitled “The Right Use of Power: The Heart of Ethics for the Helping Professional.” The three-hour workshop will tackle issues surrounding compassion and power. Whereas most courses focus solely on laws and rules, this lecture establishes a significant shift in approach that focuses on personal exploration, as well as practical guidance and support.
