Last year, Google announced the sunset of the Google Commerce Search the spring of 2014. As current GCS clients look to continue servicing their customers, SearchSpring offers a seamless full-service migration to the SearchSpring platform.

As Google brings Google Commerce Search to a close in the next few months, many online merchants will be looking for an alternate search platform. Launched in 2009, GCS is now being shut down to make space for more flexible easier-to-adopt software from Google. Site search has become a top priority for online merchants looking to enhance product offerings and increase sales. It’s an unfortunate event for clients using Google’s solution.

In February of last year, a spokesperson from Google released this statement. ”We are making a strategy shift towards offering more flexible, easier to adopt modules for retailers, such as the Search As You Type widget, rather than a full site search replacement and therefore will no longer be offering Google Commerce Search as a core site search replacement product. We will continue to support our current retail customers using GCS and will try to help them on the best migration process to alternate solutions.”

Today, SearchSpring is offering full-service integration for all Google Commerce Search customers. Our world-class engineers and support staff will be offering setup, installation, and management of each migration to alleviate the already difficult process of switching solutions. “We know how important site search is for retailers,” says Scott Zielinski, Co-Founder and COO of SearchSpring, “Offering a full-service integration is our way of helping these retailers keep up with demand and continually serve customers well.”

SearchSpring’s offerings include:
Site Search for Ecommerce – Site Search for Mobile – Category Navigation
Rich Auto-Complete – Automated SEO – Product Recommendations

Over the last quarter, the increasing demand from current GCS clients has substantially increased month-over-month. After speaking with many online merchants, it’s become obvious the discontinuance of GCS is a stressful situation for many organizations. To help alleviate any further stress SearchSpring is announcing a full-service integration for all former GCS users.
