Zweena Health will soon offer a Free Personal Health Record, where anyone can upload their health record pages into a web based application from all their medical providers and allow them to easily share their data across doctors or important family members.

“With programs like the Accountable Care and Affordable Care Act, patients have to take control and actively manage their well being,” - John Phelan, Zweena Health CEO.

Recent research from GE Healthcare found preventive healthcare save patients $3.7 billion and protects them from becoming one of the 98,000 deaths caused by preventable medical errors each year. The Journey to 50,000 Pages challenge is here to empower patients to own their data.

“With programs like the Accountable Care and Affordable Care Act, patients have to take control and actively manage their well being,” said John Phelan, Zweena Health CEO.

Zweena Health is on a mission to put consumers in the driver’s seat of their healthcare and the first step is to own their complete health record.

Information and data is power. With it, patients can easily switch providers, get a second opinion, keep track of prescriptions and procedures, and ultimately live a healthier lifestyle by getting everyone caring for them on the same page.

In just a few short weeks, Zweena Health will be offering a Free, Do-it-Yourself health record, allowing anyone to register, upload, and share their health record information.

To drive awareness of the Free PHR, it is their mission to garner 50,000 pages within the Zweena system by the end of 2014.

To accomplish this goal, Zweena needs patients to join this journey. An email will go out each month that describes a new task for participants to finish.

Zweena will keep a running count of campaign progress, always displaying how much closer they are to reaching our goal as well as a list of the tasks assigned to date so anyone can jump in at any time.

“Uploading your records and having them all centrally organized, in one place, is a good place to start. Of course, people will have the opportunity to choose which pages get “digitized”, which gets them to the important next step.” Phelan adds, “The digitization process will cost $2 per page, but at least people can start to get medical data digitally organized.”

The benefits of taking charge of your health include:

  •     Charting health trends to help identify potential issues or bright spots in your health
  •     Protect yourself from becoming one of the 98,000 preventable medical deaths each year
  •     Focusing on preventive medicine instead of symptom-based medical treatment can reduce costs up to 56%
