As a strategic partner to many of today's trucking industry innovators, Carrier Direct introduced SHIFT to freight business process specialist DDC FPO. DDC FPO digitizes, captures and processes bills of lading, invoices and other critical documents for many top U.S. carriers.

Data extraction from BOLs for CRM purposes and electronic document retrieval were on SHIFT's to-do list, but, like billing, would draw attention away from the business' bread and butter.

In December, DDC began extracting customer data from SHIFT's system based on billing activity to create a unique and exclusive database of customers. In January, DDC will begin retrieving shipping documents electronically and performing basic dimensionalizing functions through intelligent software to streamline SHIFT's administrative operations.
