RedShift Ships First TopTIR™ Mid-IR Laser Modules

RedShift reaches a key milestone in the development of its next generation of broadly tunable mid-IR lasers.

RedShift Systems Corp., a leader in infrared tunable filter technology, announced today that it has begun shipment of engineering samples of its thermo-optically tuned TopTIR laser modules to select OEM customers. These deliveries enable OEM customers to move forward in adapting the laser sources to both new and existing spectroscopy measurement applications in the environmental, industrial, defense, and biomedical markets. TopTIR tunable lasers combine solid state tunable filters and quantum cascade lasers (QCL) to achieve very high wavelength precision and accuracy over a broad spectral range in the mid-infrared.

“This is a major milestone in the development of mid-IR laser sources,” states Don Kuehl, VP of Business Development. “Mid-IR lasers are poised to open new sensor markets, however, they must first meet the demanding needs of analytical spectroscopy measurements that require high sensitivity, excellent stability, and an affordable price point,” states Kuehl. “RedShift is positioning itself as an OEM provider of just such an off-the-shelf solution to accelerate the introduction of these new measurement capabilities across these target markets.”
