Opriimo by Weightmasters is a safe and clinically proven medical device designed to suppress appetite.

Todays (21/1/14) breaking news in the Daily Mail on the re-release of the diet pill Acomplia could spark concerns surrounding the side effects, suggest Weightmasters.

Manufactured by Sanofi Aventis, the French product Acomplia is said to be the first pill to stop people from eating by interfering with a part of the brain involved in producing cravings. Available from this week on NHS prescription for a cost of around £56 a month, its UK launch has already sparked concerns regarding the ‘medicalisation’ of obesity and whether the patient will consider the drug as an easy way to slim down. There are also growing concerns as to whether underweight or anorexic people might try to source the drug illegally through the black market.

Weightmasters comment with further concerns surrounding the product’s re-release. “This is the second time of bringing this product to market. Its initial release suffered a setback in 2008/9, when the European Medicines Agency (EMEA) recommended that the European Commission suspend the product for health and safety of the user. It was withdrawn, as it was believed that the product could cause serious depression and even suicidal thoughts.”

Weightmasters advocate the use of food and more natural solutions as ways to suppress appetite, and go on to say “Opriimo could be a safer alternative. The product is certified by the Medicines and Healthcare product Regulatory Agency as a Medical Device. It is not absorbed by the body, but creates a feeling of fullness in the stomach. Through clinical trials, the device has been proven for weight management and the supportive treatment of excess weight. It is non- invasive and there are no complicated diets to follow.”
