Electronic Cigarette Industry Group (ECIG) Opens DC Office
Washington, DC (PRWEB) January 22, 2014 -- Today, the Electronic Cigarette Industry Group, Inc. (ECIG) announced the opening of its D.C. office and the addition of J.P. Moery and his firm, The Moery Company, to the ECIG team. Mr. Moery will act as Managing Director of the D.C. Office.
“ECIG is extremely pleased to have The Moery Company help manage our affairs in the nation’s capital,” said Eric Criss, the group’s President and CEO. “Their team offers unrivaled expertise in building and managing national trade associations.”
The expansion comes on the heels of ECIG’s recent announcement that former American Lung Association president Chuck Connor joined the group as a consultant. The work of Conner and The Moery Company will complement the efforts of ECIG’s government affairs team, led by Bryan Haynes at the law firm of Troutman Sanders in Richmond, Virginia and Washington, DC and MultiState Associates in Alexandria, VA.
Prior to founding The Moery Company, J.P. Moery served as Senior Vice President at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce where he oversaw the Committee of 100, the most prestigious group of association CEOs and executives in the country, and later as Executive Vice President for SmartBrief.
“I’ve been involved with diverse industries for most of my career and rarely witnessed one with so much promise and so many challenges,” Moery asserted. “We’re proud to be associated with a product that offers millions of smokers an alternative to the combustible cigarette.” The FDA is expected to bring electronic cigarettes under its authority in the very near future.
As the leading provider of objective, accurate information on electronic cigarettes, ECIG is dedicated to fostering communication, sharing reliable information and providing forums for members and state and federal agencies to engage in meaningful dialogue regarding public health, regulatory affairs and industry matters.
