Adobe’s latest release Adobe Content Server 5 (ACS) comes with a hardened Digital Rights Management (DRM) scheme to provide a higher degree of security to EPUB & PDF content against unauthorized viewing.
Adobe Reader Mobile SDK (RMSDK) empowers EPUB and PDF rendering across devices for quality display of content. Notable features of RMSDK 10 include:
(1) Compiler Migration to support latest Mac OS – based on XCode 5.0
(2) Enhanced PDF search – text search beyond stated range.
(3) DRM enhancements on the reader side
(4) EPUB 2 improvements
(a) CSS 2.1 properties enhancement
(b) Support for Pseudo Bold and Italic CJK font face
“With the new hardened DRM we are addressing one of the key customer asks, as it relates to protecting their business from unwanted revenue drain. In FY 14 we look forward to delivering interesting innovations and capabilities to address the fast moving world of eBooks” said Tridib Roy Chowdhury, Sr. Director of Products and General Manager, eBooks business. Adobe is also set to support EPUB 3 content through its collaboration with the Readium foundation in the near future.
