Erlang Factory San Francisco Bay Area 2014: Reactive Programming, Elixir, Analytics, Big Data, NoSql, Multi-core and Architectures, All in One Event
San Francisco, California (PRWEB) January 28, 2014 -- The conference will bring together over 300 members of the rapidly growing community that uses Erlang. Established tech companies such as WhatsApp, HP, Rackspace, Basho, Infoblox, Klarna, Cloudant, Alert Logic, Chef alongside Silicon Valley and global startups will be represented at the event.
As a premiere, the conference will have an entire track dedicated to Elixir, the new programming language which is gathering a lot of attention off lately. Elixir is based on the Erlang VM but with syntax close to the Ruby programming language. Elixir’s inventor, José Valim – also a Ruby on Rails Core Team member, will give a joint keynote with Dave Thomas - author of The Pragmatic Programmer. Other speakers: Bruce Tate - author of 'Seven Languages in Seven weeks', Bob Ippolito - founder of Mochi Media, Rick Reed - software engineer at WhatsApp, Brett Cameron - senior software architect with HP’s Corporate Cloud System, Stuart Bailey - CTO of Infoblox, Erik Stenman - chief scientist at Klarna, Duncan McGreggor - senior manager at Rackspace and many more. Talk topics will cover areas such as Reactive Programming, Analytics, Big Data, DevOps, Interoperationabilty, Infrastructure, Internet of Things, Embedded, Multi-core and Distributed Architectures.
Another first is the significant broadening of the range of training available before and after the conference. Besides the already traditional Erlang, OTP and DevOps courses, this year participants are also offered courses on Elixir, Cowboy, Riak and Kazoo.
Francesco Cesarini, Founder and Technical Director of Erlang Solutions and organizer of the event says: “With the Erlang Factory we aim to offer participants a chance to exchange knowledge and understand Erlang’s role in an ever evolving and growing ecosystem that ranges from embedded to distributed computing. People leave the conference having learnt about the latest features, feeling inspired and fired up with new ideas. This is the key motivation which keeps us organisers going.”
