New Jersey Landscape Company Lawns by Yorkshire Sponsorship is a Slam Dunk for Miami Heat Forward Battier’s Take Charge Foundation
Westwood, NJ (PRWEB) January 24, 2014 -- Northern New Jersey-based award-winning Lawns by Yorkshire’s http://www.lawnsbyyorkshire.com CEO Steven Jomides and his wife Andrea are partnering with Miami Heat Forward and all-time NCAA’s winningest player (133 wins) Shane Battier and his wife Heidi to support the Take Charge Foundation http://www.takechargefoundation.org.
Lawns by Yorkshire, a New Jersey based, award-winning, green and sustainable landscape and snow removal leader will kick off their sponsorship with the third annual celebrity karaoke event, “South Beach Battioke" at the Fillmore Theatre in Miami Beach, Monday, January 27, 2014.
“I have been fortunate to have gotten to know Shane this past year,” says Jomides. “He is one of America’s smartest and most inspiring pro athletes who has what it takes to truly make a difference in the lives of our at-risk youth. I’m honored to contribute to his foundation to help provide educational opportunities for these kids to succeed in life.”
The annual entertainment event features Miami Heat players Battier and fellow teammates donning crazy wigs and flashy outfits “singing for a cause” through special karaoke performances.
All proceeds from the event will be directly donated to the foundation which helps send South Florida students to college by awarding scholarships to deserving at-risk high school students.
Battier welcomes Lawns by Yorkshire as a key player in supporting the Take Charge Foundation and looks forward to building a long-lasting relationship for being an integral part of the foundation's future. “Heidi and I are extremely pleased that Lawns by Yorkshire teamed with us as a major sponsor of the South Beach Battioke to inspire a new generation of potential leaders through educational opportunities they wouldn’t ordinarily have access to,” says Battier.
.
Last year’s event raised $180,000, and included notable Miami Heat players such as Lebron James, Chris Bosh, Mike Miller, Chris Andersen and Heat President, Pat Riley. Making a special appearance this year will be “The Hangover” star, Ken Jeong, friend of Battier. We definitely have fun with it. In addition to the vocal performances by Shane and his Heat teammates, “South Beach Battioke” will feature a live auction to include Heat related items.
