On Thursday night, Natural Gourmet Institute will transform their kitchens into a bustling party, celebrating partners, organizations, students and staff that make it possible for them to carry out their social mission each day.
While Natural Gourmet Institute offers traditional culinary instruction, their curriculum is unique in that it focuses on health-supportive education and includes interdisciplinary coursework in nutrition, entrepreneurship, Macrobiotics, ingredient selection, Ayurveda, cooking for people with illnesses and more. Natural Gourmet Institute is also committed to improving lives in their community as detailed in their social mission:
The social mission of Natural Gourmet Institute is to empower individuals and communities to take charge of their own health and well-being through a holistic relationship with food and its environment. By making mindful, deliberate decisions about what we consume, we promote a sustainable food system that respects the earth's resources and the people that make each meal possible. Through education, advocacy, and collaborative partnerships, we create and nurture health-supportive culinary initiatives that strengthen communities through an ongoing dialogue about eating in harmony with nature and tradition.
“We are excited to bring together the people and organizations who help us realize our social mission for this convivial gathering; it should be quite the night,” says Anthony Fassio, CEO of Natural Gourmet Institute.
