ShipStation, the leading web-based e-commerce shipping solution, announces a move to a new headquarters location, after experiencing explosive growth.
ShipStation predicted that it would hit $2 billion in Gross Merchandise Value (the value of products shipped via its system), by the end of 2013. Instead, the company achieved $2.5 billion Gross Merchandise Value by the end of the year.
ShipStation, founded in 2011, tripled the number of employees from 2012, to the current number of over 30, and is still hiring. ShipStation’s ongoing recruiting is in the areas of customer support, development, and account management, as well as marketing.
“We are continuing to hire, so that we can continue to offer superior service to our rapidly growing customer base, further develop/add features to our product, and better spread the word to potential new customers,” notes ShipStation CEO Nathan Jones.
The new ShipStation headquarters location, at 2815 Exposition Blvd. in Austin, Texas, is more than double the size of its previous location.
Creating partnerships was a big factor in ShipStation’s growth. In 2013 ShipStation added partners including the Mark Cuban Companies, Squarespace, Amazon, Miva Merchant, in addition to its existing relationships with BigCommerce, Shopify, Volusion, Magento and more.
Shopify, a leading commerce platform, was one of ShipStation’s earliest partners. “According to our customer reviews, ShipStation is a top-rated shipping app in the Shopify App Store,” notes Shopify’s Chief Platform Officer Harley Finkelstein. “We’ve been extremely happy to be able to offer ShipStation to our customers, and thrilled to be a part of the company's rapid growth.”
