Furnished Quarters “R & R” Program Expands to Motivate Employees

Furnished Quarters, the largest provider of temporary furnished apartments in New York City and Boston, today announced that it has expanded “R&R,” its corporate rewards and recognition program.

Furnished Quarters, the largest provider of temporary furnished apartments in New York City and Boston, today announced that it has expanded “R&R,” its corporate rewards and recognition program. The program, which initially launched as a monthly competition for the Housekeeping Team in June 2011, and in August 2013 became a companywide program, has now added an annual award component to honor the “best-of-the-best.”

“The Furnished Quarters’ Human Resources and Executive team is committed to promoting and rewarding people through our R&R Program to assist in engaging and motivating our dynamic hospitality professionals,” said Jackie McMann-Oliveri, Vice President of Human Resources at Furnished Quarters.

Winners are nominated internally by managers throughout the company based on their leadership initiative, creativity, ability to think outside the box, attendance, and compliments received from guests and colleagues. Non-management-level employees from any market and department at Furnished Quarters are eligible to receive awards.

McMann-Oliveri explained that the goals of the initiative remain the same today as at the program’s inception: to inspire employee motivation, encourage morale, and boost retention. She added that the company’s co-founders Steve and Gary Brown are committed to human capital and to engaging, rewarding, and retaining employees through the program, as well as through other initiatives.

“The program really motivates the Furnished Quarters’ team and gives them a friendly competitive edge,” said McMann-Oliveri. “It makes them want to go even further above and beyond their current level of excellence.”

Six employees were named as recipients of the company’s First Annual “R&R” Rewards and Recognition Program:

•Cassandre Tassy, Leasing Coordinator: “The Unsung Hero Award”

•Bibiana Stehly, Senior Corporate Sales Manager: “The FQ Phenomenon Award”

•Lori Helmes, Senior Accounts Receivable Representative, and Michelle Morvai, Accounts Receivable Coordinator: “The Duo Raking in the FQ Dough Award”

•Emily Hay, Director of Operations, Massachusetts: “The Glue That Holds Massachusetts Together Award”

•Melissa Heeraman, Housekeeper: “The FQ Wow Factor Award”

The awards were presented at a companywide award ceremony, which was held in New York City in December 2013. Each award winner received $1,000.
