Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon, Eric R. Ritchie, M.D. With the Children’s Orthopaedic and Spine Center (COSC) Will Soon Be Offering His Expertise to the Boerne Community
(PRWEB) January 24, 2014 -- Dr. Ritchie will be working out of a satellite office where children up to age 18 may be seen for various pediatric orthopedic conditions including: bone injuries, foot or ankle problems, hip disorders, limb disorders, and scoliosis.
Dr. Eric R. Ritchie is a Board Certified, Fellowship Trained Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon. He joined the Children’s Orthopaedic and Spine Center, located at 21 Spurs Lane, San Antonio, Texas, in 2013 after a distinguished 20-year career in the United States Air Force Medical Service. Following his time as a flight surgeon, he was accepted to the only Air Force Orthopedic Residency in the country at Wilford Hall Medical Center. Dr. Ritchie was then had picked to lead the Air Force’s Pediatric Orthopedic Department. His sub-specialty training in Pediatric Orthopedic surgery and scoliosis was obtained at the prestigious University of Utah in Salt Lake City. During his time in the Air Force he was also honored to serve three combat tours to both Iraq and Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. As a result of being in the military health system, he was trained in the finest facilities in the world.
When asked why he chose his specialty, Dr. Ritchie simply states, "I just love working with kids. I try to treat all the kids the way I’d treat my own.” At the COSC, patient care is of the utmost importance, and Dr. Ritchie embodies that by stating:
“I do not have physician assistants or nurse practitioners. When a patient makes an appointment, they just see me. The diagnosis and treatment are made by me. I take a lot of time making sure parents understand the diagnosis and treatment plan.”
The Children’s Orthopaedic and Spine Center is a division of the Orthopaedic and Spine Institute, (OSI) founded by Dr. Steven J. Cyr. OSI has been serving the San Antonio community for the past eight years and has become a premier practice in the area due to the high quality of care and expertise that the Institute provides.
For the convenience and at the request of many physicians and patients, Dr. Ritchie and the Children’s Orthopedic and Spine Center are available to provide Pediatric Orthopedic services in the Boerne area.
The goal of Dr. Ritchie and his staff is to help children feel super again!
