Flood Law Group represents college athletes who suffer serious injuries as a result of multiple concussions and/or single blows to the head during practice and games

Washington, DC (PRWEB) January 28, 2014

Flood Law Group, a nationally respected personal injury litigation firm, represents athletes who believe they have suffered from traumatic brain injuries (TBI) during school sponsored athletic events. There have been several notable lawsuits in the news recently, originating from both NFL (Seattle Times, 1/14/14 – US District Court, Eastern District of Pennsylvania MDL No. 2323) athletes and NCAA (MSN/Fox Sports, 12/31/13) athletes, who believe their respective organizations acted negligently when educating them about the dangers of TBIs.

“Flood Law Group represents college athletes who suffer serious injuries as a result of multiple concussions and/or single blows to the head during practice and games,” said Chris Brown, Communications Director of Flood Law Group. “Injuries to the brain can have long-term effects for college athletes and our goal is to spread awareness about the potential risks and to help affected athletes and their families.”

“Coaches who push players to play after suffering blows to the head and/or helmet manufacturers can be held responsible for brain injuries that occur during practice and games,” says Brown. “They may also be liable for long-term brain damage caused by multiple concussions.”

Families, especially those who have members who have died as a result of TBIs, may also be entitled to financial compensation.

NCAA concussion lawsuits have recently been consolidated into a multidistrict litigation case (US Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation Case no. 2492) and allege that the NCAA didn’t properly address or educate athletes on the dangers of TBI.

As reported by the Seattle Times, the NFL has recently agreed to pay $765 million dollars in a lawsuit filed by over 4,500 former players. The case is currently under review to determine whether that dollar amount will adequately cover the costs potentially associated with these head injuries.
