Seasoned Clinical Social Worker Joins Back2Basics Addiction Treatment Team
Flagstaff, AS (PRWEB) January 26, 2014 -- Tina Culhane, local Flagstaff LCSW brings nine years of mental health therapy experience to Back2Basics long-term drug and alcohol treatment center.
“Substance abuse can often tear a family apart. When one resident is able to transform his life with recovery it not only positively impacts his life, but also the lives of the friends and family who love him,” said Culhane. “I am passionate about being a part of a team whose goal is to do everything we can to assist that transformation.”
Culhane joins the ranks of nine person clinical team that has a combined total of over 50 years of experience in the mental health industry – all driven by the niche program that Back2Basics offers.
“I think there are several things that makes Back2Basics different… The length of the program is one of the features that enable individuals to have the time to really work on the psychological issues that may be contributing to their addictive behavior, as well as learn the tools to sustain lifelong recovery,” she said. “The staff is extraordinary and brings a lot of experience and compassion to their daily interactions with the residents.”
Back2Basics offers a wilderness therapy program known as Outdoor Adventures, which Culhane finds to be complimentary to the therapy for addiction recovery.
“This experience with nature enables the residents to see the world through a different lens, and feel connected to the earth; they have an opportunity to reflect on how much beauty and wonder is out there to be experienced sober,” said Culhane.
