This course is designed for lawyers who seek to learn about the ever-expanding area of Mobile e-Discovery. Smartphones, tablets, and other small form factor personal electronic devices are valuable sources of relevant electronically stored information (ESI). This course seeks to identify the various sources of this ESI and to describe the processes of the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM) as it specifically relates to Mobile e-Discovery. In addition, the technology of mobile devices and the forensic extraction of relevant data will be examined. The information will be presented in a manner that is easily understood by a non-technologist.
Technical Challenges Related to the “Florida Ban on Texting While Driving” Law One Hour Course Description:
This course is designed for lawyers, judges, magistrates, and hearing officers who seek to learn about the technical challenges related to the new “Florida Ban on Texting While Driving Law.” This course seeks to provide a background and overview of the law as well as an explanation of the underlying technologies that support traditional and alternate forms of texting. The program will focus on the sources of evidence identified as admissible in the law, as well as the process to acquire and introduce evidence in a proceeding. This course will identify the technical conflicts that exist between the current law and existing related technologies. The information will be presented in a manner that is easily understood by a non-technologist.
