HR Managers Get Their Hands Dirty with Business GamificationSimulation Studios; Announces 2014 Business Acumen for HR Workshops
Walnut Creek, CA (PRWEB) January 29, 2014 -- Simulation Studios, http://www.simstudios.com (SimStudios), an applied training and simulation company, today announced the 2014 workshops designed for Human Resource managers. The next workshop will be held on March 25 in Silicon Valley and online registrations are being accepted at http://www.simstudios.com/acumen4hr/.
Recognizing the myriad complex business situations that face Human Resources (HR) managers every day, SimStudios developed an inclusive, one-day workshop designed to help HR and Training & Development (T&D) managers to better understand the situations that affect their business.
“We designed Business Acumen for HR Managers to help participants understand the relationships, causes and effects, and long-term impact of the choices made by others in their organization,” says Bill Hall, vice president of learning and development. “By taking on the role of their company’s CEO, they become immersed in the complex decisions faced every day, and learn to balance the effects of the choices made. It’s an engaging, easy way to learn a challenging topic. The ‘boring’ aspect of the content is replaced with engagement and interest.”
SimStudios designed the workshop so that participants use business simulations and gamification to enhance their learning. Gamification is the process of turning learning into a game; participants learn by doing, and can immediately apply their learning the next day on the job.
Through hands-on learning, HR managers develop and execute a business strategy, which ultimately gives them experience with the complex interrelationships among departments in an organization. The simulation is customized to achieve specific training objectives for HR and T&D managers.
The workshop is structured to improve participants’ understanding of how decisions and management impact the business, as well as how to manage profit/loss, cash flow, operations, marketing, product development, and more. The comprehensive, 360-degree view of the organization ultimately teaches participants to think and operate more strategically about the enterprise.
With hundreds of people having completed the Business Acumen Workshops, SimStudios launches its initial 2014 date of March 25 in San Jose, California, and additional dates in April, September, and October. The full list of dates and locations is available at http://www.simstudios.com/acumen4hr/.
