Already a satisfied Bostonpost customer, Lutheran Social Services has decided to take advantage of the automation and flexibility of the robust financial solutions that MRI offers.

We are convinced these new modules will save our accounting team significant amounts of time. - Jessica Thomasson, program director

Lutheran Social Services Housing of North Dakota (LSSH), a statewide social services ministry, currently utilizes MRI’s best-of-breed affordable housing solution, Bostonpost, to enhance the management of their nonprofit housing services. The company first became familiar with the power of MRI Accounts Payable (AP) and MRI General Ledger (GL) at the 2013 International Users Conference. After requesting a product demonstration and realizing the power, flexibility and integration capabilities of the MRI financial solutions, LSSH decided to proceed with several key MRI products, including the Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Budgeting & Forecasting, JobCost, and Corporate Accounts Receivable within their organization.

“We are convinced these new modules will save our accounting team significant amounts of time,” said Jessica Thomasson, program director. “We are excited to streamline all facets of our work into a single system. With this solution we can simultaneously integrate data on construction, leasing, rental revenue, government compliance and budgeting and financial reporting.”

As part of their MRI financial package, LSSH elected to purchase MRI’s latest financial powerhouse, MRI Budgeting & Forecasting. With the Budgeting & Forecasting solution, the program will greatly improve the efficiency, workflow, and overall collaboration of their budgeting process. One key piece of functionality includes the ability to have multiple associates working on the same budget concurrently and all within the MRI system, with users checking in and checking out workbooks to track changes and maintain data integrity. The solution will leverage all of LSSH’s crucial revenue and expense data, which will now be housed in the MRI system, providing the property management staff with the ability to easily view and incorporate both current and historical data from multiple sources simultaneously and produce highly-accurate financial reports. Moreover, MRI Budgeting & Forecasting provides an easy to use Web-based interface, allowing the customer to quickly navigate within the software with graphic displays and clickable hyperlinks.

“Our International Users Conference is an annual event where new and potential clients can learn about our product offerings and our product roadmap,” explained Ron Kolz, CSO of MRI Software. “We are thrilled that Lutheran Social Services Housing attended the event and had the opportunity to see the flexibility and high configurability of our financial solutions firsthand.”

Additionally, LSSH will utilize MRI JobCost, a solution that will empower the business to track all construction costs from inception to completion with the capacity to monitor commitments such as contracts, change orders, purchase orders, and invoices. The software allows users to control all facets of construction, including new development, purchase orders, and invoice tracking. Moreover, the system interacts with the MRI General Ledger solution for streamlined reconciliations.

The combination of these industry leading property management solutions with the already established Bostonpost product will provide LSSH with a comprehensive enterprise software solution that is scalable, flexible and will contribute to the long-term success of their organization.
