TrackingPoint today announced the appointment of Robert (Bob) L. Starer as its new Vice President of Sales. Starer is a gun industry veteran, certified as a firearms instructor in seven disciplines of firearms training. He is also a Colt Certified Armorer on AR15 and M16 rifles. Bob comes from Historic Arms, a firearms sales and training business that trains some 6,000 students per year. Bob is, perhaps, best known for his expertise and background with Title 2 firearms generally known as class 3 firearms. Bob has founded and managed a number of technology companies in telecommunications, nuclear engineering and other industries.

"TrackingPoint's PGF technology has changed the shooting experience forever," said TrackingPoint CEO John Lupher. "Bob is uniquely qualified to understand this technology and how it relates to commercial hunting markets, defense and law enforcement markets. Bob will lead our sales force as we charge ahead to make TrackingPoint an industry leader.”

TrackingPoint's groundbreaking PGF technology puts fighter jet-style lock-and-launch technology in a rifle. First unveiled at the 2013 SHOT Show in January, the PGF system is the first of its kind that incorporates innovative optics, automatic ballistics calculation and guided fire control to create the most accurate long-range shooting system in the world. The initial product offerings were in .338 Lapua Magnum and .300 Winchester Magnum, with recent product expansion offering a suite of new calibers to smart rifle enthusiasts.

With TrackingPoint, even a novice shooter can become an elite long-range marksman in minutes, accurately and effectively engaging targets out to 1,200 yards. In addition to precision technology that mitigates all of the most common shooting errors to ensure accuracy, the system's built in Wi-Fi and ShotView™ streaming video mobile app lets shooters share their experience with others in real time with a smartphone or tablet. The PGF's networked tracking scope also records each shot with video and audio that can be downloaded to an iPhone or Android device for sharing via social media like Facebook and Twitter or SMS and email.

“TrackingPoint is a most amazing company with superb technological expertise focused on a game changing product line,” said Starer. "It is a privilege and an honor to be chosen to lead the TrackingPoint sales team."
