Davron Manufactures Continuous Conveyor Oven with Proficient Product Trays
Chattanooga, Tenn. (PRWEB) January 29, 2014 -- Davron Technologies, Inc. designed and manufactured the DTI-978 — a gas-powered continuous conveyor oven used to cure disc brakes — for an automotive customer. Because of space restrictions in the cutomer’s plant, Davron utilized a chain-on-edge conveyor system with custom product trays. This design conveys products in segregated pockets through the heated chamber in a vertical orientation. This design also allows for the simultaneous curing of multiple products of different sizes. Thanks to these innovations, the DTI-978 continuous conveyor oven enabled the customer to increase their production in a smaller footprint. With a one-hour cure cycle and a 20-minute cooling cycle, the oven can produce, on average, 400 parts per hour.
The DTI-978 generates heat with a single natural gas, full-modulating burner and two circulation fans. The control system allows the oven to operate between 300ᴼ and 662ᴼF. The finely tuned vertical down airflow pattern provides each part with equal airflow, resulting in a faster and more consistent curing profile. The cooling section features a dedicated cooling supply and a cooling exhaust fan. The cooling exhaust fan continuously evacuates the heated air to allow the cooling chamber to operate efficiently.
This continuous conveyor oven has usable dimensions for heating of 6’7” wide x 0’–6’ high x 8’-0” long, with an additional 2’8” of the chamber dedicated to cooling. The interior of the oven is made out of 16-gauge aluminized steel backed by six inches of eight-pound-density mineral wool insulation. The exterior is constructed of 16-gauge carbon steel over a structural steel frame and is finished with high-temperature paint.
Davron provided turnkey design and manufacturing services for the DTI-978 continuous conveyor oven to meet the space and curing requirements provided by the customer. The tray arrangement was an option added by the customer at Davron’s recommendation. Once acceptance and training were completed at Davron’s headquarters, the customer took possession and installed the continuous conveyor oven at their facility. Due to the compact design, the DTI-978 was shipped in one piece to make installation simple and efficient for the customer. No outside assistance was needed.
