Wood Glen Alzheimer’s Community Hosts Inaugural Believe Gala, ‘Spirit Of Hope’ Awards
Dayton, OH (PRWEB) January 30, 2014 -- Memories are precious, and losing them is heartbreaking. Unfortunately, it happens everyday at the Wood Glen Alzheimer’s Community. Please join us for the purple tie preferred event to celebrate memories and recognize caregivers at the Inaugural BELIEVE Gala, in conjunction with the ‘Spirit of Hope’ awards, from 6:00 to 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at the Dayton Masonic Center, 525 W. Riverview Ave, Dayton, OH 45405.
This program celebrates our relatives, our friends and our neighbors – the more than 30,000 caregivers and persons struggling with this disease in the Miami Valley. These caregivers spend more than two billion dollars annually, and countless hours, providing care for their loved ones, often never receiving a simple “thank you.”
Mark Anderson from Wood Glen Alzheimer’s Community says, "This gala is from my heart to every caregiver, provider and organization in the Miami Valley. I want to say thank you to everyone who supports and cares for individuals affected by Alzheimer's disease. Caregiving is typically a thankless job, and this gala is one small way to give back."
Each year, Wood Glen Alzheimer’s Community, Dayton’s leader in Alzheimer’s education and clinical care, provides needed services for those suffering with Alzheimer’s disease, and related dementias. Wood Glen helps caregivers through numerous support groups and educational programs and also collaborates with the Alzheimer’s Association’s Miami Valley Chapter. They support numerous fundraisers throughout the year to help raise awareness and funding, donating proceeds back to the local chapter.
