Rockbridge Sports Group Hiring GMs in Alabama, Colorado, Michigan and Texas
Charlottesville, VA (PRWEB) January 29, 2014 -- The landscape in sports multimedia rights management is beginning to undergo a fundamental shift. The predominant model in the industry – where institutions fully outsource their rights in exchange for lump sum payments – is coming under question with regards to long-term viability. A market opportunity is emerging to serve institutions that are moving to reclaim control over their brands and recast the long-term relationships they maintain with their media and corporate partners.
Rockbridge Sports Group, launched in 2011, is building a stable of new clients who appreciate the value of their rights and want to grow that value within their culture and on their own terms. As a result, Rockbridge Sports Group has recently signed partnerships with the Western Athletic Conference, Troy University, and Houston Baptist University, and is beginning to gain traction in the high school ranks with a newly announced partnership with the Michigan High School Athletic Association.
The result is a new opportunity for experienced leaders in the industry to join Rockbridge Sports Group founders David Johnston and Rich Klein, as they work to build upon their decades of experience and advance their new multi-media rights management model. Across all four properties, General Manager positions are being filled to help build and grow these new programs.
Another recently announced key hire is Kevin May, Vice President for Operations. May joined Rockbridge Sports Group earlier this month from Terrapin Sports Marketing / CBS Collegiate Sports Properties, with 9 years combined experience as a General Business Manager at the University of Maryland and Louisiana State University, in addition to 4 years at Washington Sports and Entertainment.
“Rockbridge Sports Group is becoming a dynamic player in the industry, and I am proud to lend my experience and expertise to help deliver value to our clients,” said May. “David and Rich understand how to balance a proven business model with in-house priorities to create a successful partnership culture. Rockbridge is also embracing the potential of video content rights monetization and digital media and building strategic corporate alliances that will further enhance the company’s positioning over the course of 2014.”
“We prioritize strategic fit with our clients, and we do the same within our own team,” said David Johnston, co-founder and principal of Rockbridge Sports Group. “Each new partnership represents a total commitment to building the relationships necessary to attract and retain top-tier sponsors. We will only grow as fast as we can add the right people in the right environments in order to deliver for those clients that have trusted us to maximize the value from their sponsorship and media assets.”
