The P.A.S.T. Retired Players Medical Group hosts their annual Dinner of Champions at the Brownstone in Paterson, New Jersey. The event benefits the P.A.S.T. Trust & Endowment & Youth Sports Education Programs.

William J. Focazio M.D., founded the nonprofit organization P.A.S.T. to aid retired NFL, NBA, MLB, and NHL athletes who suffer from complex medical and behavioral issues that stem from concussions and CTE. P.A.S.T. has successfully treated hundreds of athletes and have tremendously changed their quality of life.

Players spanning the generations come together to raise awareness and discuss the serious issues retired athletes face. Retired Jet’s player Ray Lucas hosts this year’s Dinner of Champions and shares his personal struggles and successes as a retired professional athlete, along with other athletes who have been through the P.A.S.T. program.

This year, P.A.S.T. announces the launch of their pilot program where the professional athletes that P.A.S.T treats pay it forward by facilitating unique high school and college sports education programs designed to empower young athletes and address the serious issues they face, such as concussions, addiction and peer pressure. P.A.S.T has invested over $4 million in treatment as well as education awareness initiatives. This year, P.A.S.T. will pilot a program for teens and college athletes in the Tri-State area.

Maria Cooper Janis, daughter of American film icon Gary Cooper, will address the audience and introduce a special performance by Yamaha Artist Tony DeSare.
