Windward today announced the release of the Windward Engine Performance Scorecard, a comprehensive document that details the performance specs of the Windward Engine. Key results from the scorecard illustrate how the Windward document generation Engine can produce documents at a rate of up to 27 pages per second.
"Production speed is essential to our customers," said Larry Goldman, Director of Marketing. "We're often asked 'Does the Windward Engine really produce pages per second?' The latest Performance Scorecard shows the answer to be a definitive 'Yes!'"
Windward tested the performance of the latest version of the Windward Engine by creating a report 50 times and averaging the result. Performance results (number of pages created per second) depend on which engine is used, what sort of data source is used, and the number of threads allowed by the server. When generating documents in a single thread, the results ranged from 1.5 to 4 pages per second. Using 16 threads with the same documents boosted performance to 9 to 27 pages per second.
The scorecard lays out detailed information about the test parameters and the two versions of the Engine tested: the Windward Java Engine and the Windward .NET Engine. It also contains information about how companies can run performance tests themselves using testing code that is embedded within the Windward Engine.
