The site took off as a brain child of a former HR software sales and implementation specialist in 2008. He, Clay Scroggin, tried to find other HR software products to offer his expanding client base. However, he was finding it difficult to locate many of them without having to visit each individual corporate site to learn more about each product. The light bulb went off and he decided to create a site that would allow any prospective client to learn more about many systems in one location; thus, saving time for those who were in the search for an HR software solution.
In the past, the product roster has changed but one of the many values of the site is the fact that no product is listed unless it has at least five years of experience behind it. "This provides the prospective client the knowledge that these vendors/products reflected are those that have staying power and respond to current market needs in order to remain relevant," says Deborah Scroggin.
Since the site is coming up on six years old, CompareHRIS realizes it must also change with the times. “Since inception, we've seen drastic changes to the internet and the HR and/or Payroll technology itself. Therefore, the site will be undergoing some renovations over the next few months,” stated Deborah Scroggin. The site’s home page has already been revamped to provide better readability to its users. It is the hope that this change, and all future changes, will modernize the site and make it easier to navigate for anyone who wishes to take advantage of its large informational database and its most valued offering, the HRIS Selection Tool.
