Established in 1992 at the University of Akron, the Fisher Institute for Professional Selling is one of the oldest Sales Programs in the world, and is a full member of the University Sales Center Alliance (USCA). As a new Premiere Corporate Partner of the Fisher Institute, MRI Software will provide feedback into the current sales curriculum, act as a workplace mentor to Akron sales students, and recruit the best and brightest after graduation.
“The MRI Software – Fisher Institute for Professional Selling relationship is built on a foundation of our sales students and the graduates of our Sales credential programs. I know from the perspective of UA and the Fisher Institute, the feedback from our students on the quality of the work and career experiences they have garnered at MRI in the form of internships, summer positions, and now, full-time sales representative placements, has been phenomenal,” said Dr. Chris Plouffe, Director – Fisher Institute for Professional Selling, College of Business Administration, University of Akron. “There is a buzz amongst students who have worked at MRI about both the quality of the company and the extremely attractive nature of the career opportunities MRI is affording our graduates in the form of sales, customer account management, and business development positions. The Fisher Institute is extremely pleased to have MRI Software as one of a select few new “Premiere Corporate Partners,” and we look forward to a long and mutually beneficial relationship with MRI going forward.”
As part of the partnership, MRI has made a substantial monetary commitment to the Fisher Institute, a significant portion of which will go toward the renovation of the institute’s one-of-a-kind Sales Skills Practice Laboratory. The complex contains six skill practice rooms equipped with video recording equipment, enabling individuals to review their performances and improve their selling and overall communication skills. It was constructed specifically to aid in the process of developing students for successful careers in professional selling.
“We are thrilled to be an officially recognized partner of the Fisher Institute and directly contribute to the education and preparation of the next generation of salesmen and women. Fisher’s innovative approach to becoming a successful sales representative has consistently and effectively prepared undergraduates for real-world success,” said Ron Kolz, Chief Sales Officer at MRI. “MRI is excited to be an integral part of shaping the lives of so many students, and creating a memorable work experience via our internships and summer programs.”
