Ostendorf-Morris’s Chairman Named to Midwest Real Estate News’ Hall of Fame
Cleveland, OH (PRWEB) January 31, 2014 -- For the past four years “Midwest Real Estate News” has been dedicating its final issue of the year to the Midwest Commercial Real Estate Hall of Fame. In 2013, commercial real estate brokerage Ostendorf-Morris’s William West was among the honorees. West has been part of the Ostendorf-Morris (http://www.ostendorf-morris.com) team since 1974 and currently holds the title of Chairman of the Board.
One of five print publications put out by the Chicago-based Real Estate Publishing Group (REPG), “Midwest Real Estate News” is dedicated to reporting the best commercial real estate happenings in the Midwestern states. Its annual Hall of Fame issue takes that endeavor to a new level, profiling the most successful and talented brokers, developers, attorneys and lenders within the Midwest states.
While career achievement goes into the selection process, being named a Midwest Real Estate News’ Hall of Famer entails more than just a stellar resume. As the magazine points out, “even the busiest of our Hall of Fame inductees manages to find time to devote to both their communities and their industries.” West is no exception.
A veteran of the industry, West began his real estate career in 1968 after graduating from Case Western Reserve Law School. He joined Ostendorf-Morris in 1970, became a Partner in 1974, and quickly rose the ranks to President (1978) and Chairman (1982), the title he still holds to this day.
Throughout his illustrious tenure, West has been involved in all aspects of the commercial brokerage business. Mortgage broker, property management, investment and construction expertise also highlight his professional dossier. Even with all of that on his plate, however, West has still found time to give back to his profession. His community service contributions include past president stints for the SIOR Ohio chapter, the NAIOP Cleveland chapter, and Colliers Cleveland. In addition, he currently serves as Vice President of the Downtown Cleveland Alliance, Chairman of the Downtown Cleveland Improvement Corporation. West also serves on the Law School Advisory Committee. He was previously Director of the New Cleveland Campaign, the Greater Cleveland Growth Association, and the Achievement Center.
In combination, these are the endeavors that resonated with “Midwest Real Estate News.” “Being a Hall of Famer is certainly about closing deals and developing important buildings across the Midwest. It’s also about giving back. It’s about making sure our communities are strong. It’s about making sure that the real estate industry itself continues to thrive,” the magazine’s editor explains.
