Two Personal Injury Attorneys from Whitley Law Firm Included in List of 2014 Rising Stars℠
Kinston, NC (PRWEB) January 29, 2014 -- Each year, Super Lawyers® Magazine chooses a small percentage of up-and-coming attorneys within each state to be included in its Rising Stars℠ list, according to the Super Lawyers® website. The listing honors outstanding lawyers who are either age 40 or below, or who have been practicing law for 10 years or less. Whitley Law Firm is proud to announce that two of its Raleigh personal injury lawyers, Benjamin H. Whitley and Ann Ochsner, have been selected for inclusion in the North Carolina Super Lawyers® Rising Stars℠ list for 2014. For Attorney Whitley, this marks the second year in a row that he has been bestowed with the honor.
Being named in the Rising Stars℠ listing is a notable professional achievement for a lawyer, considering that only up to 2.5% of attorneys in each state are included, according to Super Lawyers®. Those who are considered for inclusion in the Rising Stars℠ list go through an extensive evaluation process, which includes both peer review and independent research/evaluation.
As explained on the Super Lawyers® website, candidates are first nominated by their professional peers, and then they are given numerical ratings by a panel of highly respected peer attorneys who work within the same field and geographic area. In the independent review portion, the candidates are given numerical scores in a dozen areas that are meant to measure professional achievement and professional recognition. With certain considerations being factored in, such as firm size, the scores are calculated and those with the highest point values are given a place on the Rising Stars℠ list.
Mr. Whitley is a partner at Whitley Law Firm whose key areas of practice include personal injury, medical device and drug claims, pharmacy malpractice and workers’ compensation. The lawyer, who was admitted to practice law in North Carolina in 2003, has been recognized for his professional excellence in various ways. In addition to being included in the Rising Stars℠ listing, he has also been accepted into The National Trial Lawyers: Top 40 Under 40 and has been given a 10.0 Superb rating by Avvo. Furthermore, Attorney Whitley has been appointed to the Discovery Committee of the Granuflo Multidistrict Litigation.
Ms. Ochsner, an associate attorney at Whitley Law Firm, leads the firm’s appellate advocacy team. In addition to appellate advocacy, her other main area of focus is civil litigation. Attorney Ochsner was admitted practice law in North Carolina in 2011. Since that time, she served as a zealous advocate for the wrongfully injured and has represented these victims before the North Carolina Court of Appeals and the North Carolina Supreme Court.
