Oaks Christian Online High School Launches Its First School Profile for 2014 Graduating Class
Westlake Village, CA (PRWEB) January 31, 2014 -- Oaks Christian launched in January its first OCO School Profile for the graduating class of 2014. The annual document highlights the school’s mission and program as well as classes offered online, graduation requirements and statistics for the graduating class of 2014. The School Profile shows Advanced Placement (AP) pass rates, average college placement testing scores and college admissions results specifically for the current graduating class. This document is used by college admissions counselors around the country to better characterize the rigor of the online high school courses, the abilities of its high school graduates and the success of its program in preparing students for college. The purpose of the college-preparatory, accredited online high school is to successfully bring the mission and reputation of the acclaimed Oaks Christian School main campus in Westlake Village, CA, to students outside its campus. With 100% of OCO graduates accepted to a four-year college, OCO and its School Profile reflect how well the online school has accomplished that mission.
All Oaks Christian Online School full-time students participate in an online college counseling program that mimics our main campus experience. Students participate in grade-level counseling courses that prepare them to consider their graduation plan and its rigor, college placement testing paths, and their place in the college selection process. In the virtual college counseling course, students can listen to visiting college admissions representatives or participate in one of 16 online events per year. Local students also have the opportunity to take private college tours with their counselor, bringing a new dimension to homeschooling online. OCO graduates who have benefited from this program continue to be remarkable young people who are passionate about arts, acting, music, sports, academics and their faith. They come from around the country and around the world, and they plan to pursue their passions at the collegiate level. This year students have already been accepted to Westmont College, Gordon College, Northern Arizona University, California State University Channel Islands and California State University Fullerton. These students hope to add many more names this year to the growing list of colleges and universities that have made admissions offers to OCO graduates.
