KWGN-TV meteorologist forecasts 20 inches of snow for Breckenridge by noon on Friday; promotion offers a 1% discount for each inch of snow Breckenridge Ski Resort reports.

Summit Mountain Rentals, a Breckenridge vacation rental and property management company, announced today that its popular “Snowfall Discount” program is back and in effect for the remainder of the 2013/2014 ski season in Colorado.

Here’s how the “Snowfall Discount” works: For every inch of snow that falls in Summit County, guests will receive a 1 percent discount off the total price of lodging and vacation rentals in Breckenridge and Frisco. Discount snowfall totals are based on the morning snow report for Breckenridge Ski Resort applied to bookings made that day. (For example, 15 inches of snow reported equals a 15 percent discount.) The maximum discount allowed is 25 percent and cannot be combined with any other promotions or offers.

“We’ve been offering the ‘Snowfall Discount’ to our guests since 2009 and this year won’t be any different,” said Mark Waldman, owner of Summit Mountain Rentals. “The snow is incredible this season. In fact, 100 percent of Breckenridge Ski Resort is open for skiers and riders. We’ve received more than seven feet of snow for the month of January and with this week’s big storm, we could even break some records for the month.”

“After a 10-day dry stretch, a powerful winter storm arrives in Colorado’s High Country Wednesday afternoon and won’t stop until Friday. I’m forecasting 20 inches of total snow at Breckenridge Ski Area by noon on Friday,” says KWGN Meteorologist Chris Tomer. “This storm looks to bring home the bacon.”
