With All Of The Violence Against Children In The Tampa Area One Woman Is Rewarded For Her Efforts For Creating A Nurturing Village Around Them
Tampa, FL (PRWEB) January 31, 2014 -- Every day in news around the world we hear about terrible things that are happening to children. Just recently in the Tampa area a child sex sting was broken up and 35 were arrested in connection. This is sad and some local citizens are making sure that they are creating a safe haven for children. One of those people is Ms. Tonya Lewis the founder of Children With Vision. Ms. Lewis started the 501c3 non-profit agency to help educate, nurture and empower children in her local Tampa area. Her work has not gone unnoticed. She has received support from many local business owners who want help her create a nurturing village for the children of Tampa and the surrounding communities.
Because of her tireless dedication to children and to her cause Ms. Lewis is being awarded the We Shine Award at the Shine Conference on March 21, 2014. The WE SHINE Award is presented to an individual woman or women's organization dedicated to the improvement of the lives of women and girls in their community. This year's recipient is Ms. Tonya Lewis is no stranger to survival and understands the meaning of breaking barriers. She founded Child With a Vision to help children and teens in crisis. Ms. Lewis will also serve on our Faces of Recidivism Panel and share her story of redemption through service.
The Shine Conference was started by another woman on a mission to help those who have been victims of domestic violence and those with criminal records looking for a fresh start. Ms. LeTonya F. Moore Esq. who is the founder of Opulence Enterprise has also set up a nurturing village for those who didn’t have a Ms. Lewis to help and keep them from slipping through the cracks of the justice system. Opulence offers those looking for a fresh start the necessary tools to help them become productive citizens. They are dedicated to the whole process of starting over including assessing; training and helping these individuals find gainful employment.
