Index, Washington (PRWEB) January 30, 2014
The early bird prices for the 2014 Spring Mysteries Festival are over February 4. Prices will rise from $185 to $220.
The Spring Mysteries Festival is back once again to present the Mysteries of Eleusis. For the 29th year in a row, The Aquarian Tabernacle Church will present the story of Demeter and the descent of the Holy Daughter into the Underworld. For 2500 years, the Eleusinian Mysteries drew pilgrims to Greece to learn the mysteries of life and death.
People then, just as today, came from all corners of the known world to learn that which the past participants had been sworn to secrecy over: it was said that those that attended these rites left no longer fearing death. In the recreation by the ATC, the Mysteries have been recreated through a lifetime of work by noted Eleusinian Scholars, and dedicated priests and priestesses. Additionally the festival also houses the Adult Affirmation of Path (AAOP) for all attendees who are looking to dedicate to their particular path, and the Youth Rite of Passage (YROP) for all children 12 and up who are ready to make the assay into learning about entering an adult world.
Today, the Spring Mysteries Festival is held in Washington State at Fort Flagler on Marrowstone Island. Located on the waters of the Puget Sound, and once the first line of artillery defense for the Pacific Northwest during World War II, the bunkers and batteries of the historical grounds become transformed by the participants into the Grounds of Eleusis.
Accommodations for guests, aside from four days of ritual and entertainment, include eight meals from Thursday dinner to Sunday breakfast, bunk-style sleeping arrangements with CPAP capabilities, and a diabetic food kitchen for anyone in need during the event. Prices will go up again on March 15th to $240.00. The dates of this year’s events are April 17th-20th.
