We can now offer our customers a great alternative to conventional, expensive lift and ramp systems.

All About Access is a leading distributor and installer of stair lifts, vertical platform lifts, residential elevators, wheelchair lifts and a host of other accessibility products in the Southern Wisconsin, Northern Illinois and Northwest Indiana area. They are very excited to add ConvertaStep, a brand new wheelchair lift system, and Welcome Ramp, a motorized, portable wheelchair ramp, to their accessibility product line offering. “We are very optimistic about the new lift and ramp because they have some very significant advantages over conventional wheelchair ramps and lifts," reports Jon Tevz, owner of All About Access. “We can now offer our customers a two great alternatives to conventional, expensive lift and ramp systems.”

ConvertaStep is a revolutionary new lift that potentially makes clumsy products that take up an entire yard obsolete. ConvertaStep replaces the need for a bulky wheelchair ramp with an almost invisible wheelchair lift that does not deter from the look of the front of a home or entranceway. It works beautifully with home and building entryways consisting of up to 5 steps.

Invented by a wheelchair user himself, ConvertaStep is the brainchild of Steve Kitchin, founder of ConvertaStep and a quadriplegic since 1999. “I did not want a 40-foot ramp to my front door. They are incredibly expensive and I do not like the way they look. Our lift provides access for wheelchairs, scooters, walkers or anyone that has difficulty climbing stairs, and it can be installed for a fraction of the cost," said Kitchin.

Jon Tevz, owner of All About Access, envisions ConvertaStep as a wheelchair lift system that is appealing from both a functional and aesthetic point of view. “It is safe, reliable and cost-effective, plus it is hardly noticeable when you look at the front of a home. We anticipate explosive growth with this new and unique concept," said Tevz.

The ConvertaStep is powered by a 12V DC battery and has a load limit of 750 pounds. Some of its safety features include a non-skid surface, remote control switch with emergency stop, safety rails and roll stops at both ends of the unit. It can be customized to a range of lifting heights up to 33” maximum.
