UtiliFIT, the At-Your-Desk Fitness Program, Announces its Biggest Update Yet
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) February 04, 2014 -- Just in time for New Year’s resolutions, the team at FIX has launched the largest, most expansive update yet for UtiliFITTM. UtiliFIT is the office fitness game that uses micro-challenges to get players up and out of their seats throughout the day – helping people lead healthier, more active lives.
This update expands UtiliFIT to add diet tracking to the core exercise program, factoring each of these behaviors into a weekly progress meter. Now, UtiliFIT players have a clear roadmap of easy-to-confirm activities that allow them to achieve the recommended amounts of daily activity (more moving/less sitting) and exercise, and to make smart diet choices.
In addition, UtiliFIT brings a companion app to market for iPhone and Android, eliminating user dependence on text messaging. Plus, UtiliFIT features an updated chat system, allowing users to like and dislike posts through the website’s social hub.
“Making fitness fit into people’s lives has always been a priority for us here at FIX. We do that by making things fun, interactive and bite-sized,” says Mike Tinney, CEO and Founder of FIX. “Our latest update combines the pillars of exercise and diet with our existing engine for activity, empowering players to reach new milestones in their personal fitness journeys.”
“Most people know diet and exercise are good for you,” adds Tim Church, M.D., M.P.D., Ph.D., FIX’s medical advisor. “What most people don’t realize is that diet and exercise are only two-thirds of the equation. There is a mounting body of evidence that suggests that too much sitting can kill you. UtiliFIT’s one of the best tools out there for addressing that. Combine that with the new exercise and diet features, and UtiliFIT starts to check all the right boxes.”
UtiliFIT is currently available as a corporate wellness service for companies of all sizes. More information is available at http://www.SittingIsSmoking.com.
