Leading digital agency Click Consult is delighted to have reached a fundraising milestone by raising enough money to keep Claire House children’s hospice open for two days.
The North-West based charity, which offers respite, palliative and end-of-life care to children and young people with life threatening or life limiting conditions, needs over £6,500 to cover its cost of care every single day.
The team at Click Consult are delighted to have raised a total of £13,000 - enough to keep the hospice running for a full 48 hours - by organising and taking part in a series of fundraising events.
For two consecutive years, staff members have challenged their stamina, determination and camaraderie by taking part in the 12 mile obstacle course Tough Mudder and two employees put their fitness and endurance to the test by running the Chester Marathon in 2013.
One adventurous team member completed The Three Peaks Challenge, climbing Ben Nevis, Snowdon and the Scafell Pike in the Peak District in 24 hours and also took it upon himself to kayak the Leeds-Liverpool canal in the name of charity.
Employees devised and executed a number of other creative fundraising ideas, including office cake bakes, clothing donation events and monthly dress-down days. They also held their own ‘Wii Olympics’, where staff paid for the privilege of taking part in a two-day Nintendo Wii sporting challenge.
The team even managed to convince the company’s account manager to let his colleagues loose on his locks with a pair of scissors, having not had a haircut in five years.
The company, which operates a payroll scheme that allows employees to voluntarily have donations for Claire House automatically deducted from their salaries, also organised a charity raffle at the Chester Business Awards and sponsored a number of Claire House events, such as The Winter Wonderland Ball and Champagne and Diamond Ball.
