CGTrader.com, a community-based marketplace for 3D artists, is back with another challenge. This time they focus on Sci-Fi 3D models and invite professional designers to join the battle of the Universe and create the most stunning 3D models for 3D Sci-Fi Challenge.

It is the first Sci-Fi themed challenge on CGTrader. Its storyline is quite simple - a war broke out in the Universe and there are two major forces fighting for power. 3D designers are invited to join either the side of peacemakers or the side of revolutionists. Winners of the best model and portfolio will be awarded with full version of Mari or Modo by The Foundry and other valuable prizes.

“We have noticed that science fiction is a favorite theme for 3D designers. Therefore, we decided to create a challenge where they could show all their skills and enthusiasm. We think that it will be very exciting to participate in this battle for the Universe,” says Marius Kalytis, CEO of CGTrader.

CGTrader already made a few significant challenges for 3D modeling professionals. 3D Character Challenge and 3D Game Model Challenge were the ones which attracted the attention of 3D artists who like science fiction. The company also creates challenges for designers who create 3D printable items.
