Fish oil creates bigger brains, Your Lifestyle Product comment.
Gatwick, Surrey (PRWEB UK) 2 February 2014 -- Latest research has found that eating fish not only increases brain size but also protects against developing Alzheimer’s disease reports Daily Mail on 27th January 2014. The findings come from a new study published in the Neurology journal ( http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-2544287/Fish-oil-help-prevent-Alzheimers-bigger-brain.html).
Alzheimer’s disease develops as a result of the brain shrinking in volume as well as aging. People living in Britain are currently advised to eat fish at least twice a week, including one portion of oily fish. The essential Omega-3 fatty acid found in oily fish is Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), which helps the nerve cells communicate.
A US study focusing on the levels of omega-3 fatty acids including DHA in red blood cells tested 1,111 women. After eight years once the women were 78, MRI scans had been taken. The results of the scans identified that those with twice as high levels of fatty acids had a larger brain volume by up to two inches.
According to Dr Pottala, “Our study suggests that a higher tissue reserve of omega-3 fatty acids may slow the loss of cognitive function that can accompany brain atrophy.” From the findings, it supports the fish oil supplements as Omega-3 fats contribute to several health benefits, such as reducing heart attacks, blood clots, dangerous heart rhythms and inflammation of the brain.
Yourlifestyle comment, “Experts have been telling us to eat more fish for Omega 3 for years now, but the truth is that in the UK, we tend to eat more meat, and many people still find fish unpalatable. In such instances, it is a good idea to supplement the diet with a good quality fish oil capsule which high concentrations of EPA and DHA to make these essential nutrients are still present in the diet”.
Your Lifestyle Products have recently launched Hi-Mega, a powerful combination of Omega 3 fish oils, which contain high concentrations of the essential fatty acids EPA (Eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (Docosahexaenoic acid). Each soft gel capsule contains Vitamin A, D, and E to help support the body’s circulatory system.
