Edgenuity Announces “Every Click Counts” Video Contest Winners in Celebration of Digital Learning Day 2014
Scottsdale, AZ (PRWEB) February 05, 2014 -- Edgenuity, a leading provider of online and blended learning solutions, is celebrating Digital Learning Day 2014 by announcing the winners of its second-annual “Every Click Counts” video contest, highlighting stories of online and blended learning success from partner schools and districts across the country. Grand-prize winner Ketchikan Gateway Borough School District in Alaska will receive a $5,000 technology grant and runners up Coppell Independent School District in Texas and Henrico County School District in Virginia will receive courtesy software licenses to offer Edgenuity courses to additional students.
Ketchikan’s winning video highlights how the flexibility of online learning allows high school students to graduate early, make up for missed credits, and pursue personal goals beyond the classroom.
“By enrolling in Edgenuity classes, I have been able to manage time to my advantage [and] pursue my dreams of becoming a politician,” said senior Trevor Shaw. “This year I became the second-youngest publically elected official in the history of Alaska, winning a seat with the Ketchikan School Board.”
Additional contest winner highlights include:
- Henrico County School’s submission shares how Edgenuity allows students to work at their own pace and regain confidence in their ability to succeed, staying on track to graduate and prepare for life after high school.
- Coppell Independent School District’s submission shows how Edgenuity allows students to tailor an individualized learning path, working with teachers to monitor their progress and select course options that motivate them towards achievement.
“Our school partners have brought to light the unique and powerful ways online and blended learning can successfully prepare students for their futures,” said Sari Factor, CEO of Edgenuity. “We’re very proud of the teachers and administrators who are pioneering new ways to engage students, personalize their learning, and ensure students are ready for college and career.”
This year’s contest winners represent just a few of the Edgenuity partner schools that are bringing innovation to the educational experience through online and blended learning. In fact, two of Edgenuity’s partner schools, Rio Rancho Cyber Academy in New Mexico and Henry County Schools in Georgia are being highlighted today as part of the official Digital Learning Day festivities to support the effective use of technology to improve education for all students.
