Elton Maddox Named Chairman Of U.S. Poultry & Egg Association

Elton Maddox, Chairman and CEO of Wayne Farms LLC, was recently elected Chairman of the Board of Directors of the U.S. Poultry & Egg Association (US POULTRY) at the 2014 International Poultry Exposition, part of the International Production and Processing Exposition, held in Atlanta, Georgia January 26 – 29, 2014.

Maddox has served on the Board of Directors for US POULTRY since 2007 and had previously served as Vice Chairman. During the Expo, Maddox was presented with the time-honored “Working Man’s Gavel” by 2013 Chairman, James Adams of Wenger Feeds, and named new Chairman.

Officers who will serve alongside Maddox include:

  •     Sherman Miller, Cal-Maine Foods, Jackson, Miss. – Vice Chairman
  •     Paul Hill, West Liberty Foods, West Liberty, Iowa - Treasurer
  •     Jerry Moye, Cobb-Vantress, Siloam Springs, Ark. - Secretary
  •     James Adams, Wenger Feeds, Rheems, Pa. – Immediate Past Chairman

“I am more than proud to be named Chairman of U.S. Poultry and Egg,” says Elton Maddox, Chairman and CEO of Wayne Farms LLC. “I have been honored to be part of the U.S. Poultry & Egg Board for the past seven years, and part of the poultry industry for more than 40 years. I believe this group has initiated very important work in the areas of research, education and awareness for the poultry industry to date. I aim to continue upon the path laid by my predecessors and surpass the expectations set before me.”

Maddox is also a past Chairman of the National Chicken Council and the Georgia Improvement Association and a past President of the Georgia Poultry Federation and the Georgia Poultry Processors Association.
